Gatorade POY

On March 23 & 24, Made in Regio had the pleasure of covering the CIA Bounce 2012 Training Camp. CIA Bounce houses the best of Canadian basketball at the high school level, hinting at the bright future of Basketball in Canada. All hands were on deck this weekend to witness what this country has to offer, including Team Canada Basketball alum Rowan Barrett and former Toronto Raptor and current NBA Ambassador Jerome Williams aka The Junkyard Dog.
Gatorade is known for making the right decisions when selecting it’s players of the year. The top standouts for each State are strongly debated and we here at MIRLW are proud to introduce two of CIA Bounce’s very best, Tyler Ennis (New Jersey) and Andrew Wiggins (West Virginia) as Gatorade’s Players of the Year for 2011/2012.

Andrew Wiggins is the definition of phenom. Wiggins has yielded national media attention since the age of 13 with a series of sensational youtube clips. With the help of Wiggins, the Huntington Prep Express has dominated the high school circuit with a 28-2 record. Andrew is known for his high flying athletics, but is well rounded with a high percentage jump shot and tight handle. It is no surprise that Andrew has been heavily recruited by the top tier NCAA colleges, but they will all have to wait until 2014 when he leaves the high school realm. Any NCAA school team is lucky to land this Canadian who is slated to be the #1 pick in the NBA draft whenever he enters.

The highly touted Tyler Ennis led the St. Benedict’s Grey Bees to a near flawless record of 33-2. Not bad for a team that recorded a 13-12 campaign in 2010. With a tremendous feel for the game, many NCAA coaches are wishing Tyler would reclassify to the 2012 class, but Ennis plans on leading the Grey Bees in New Jersey for one more year to attain All-American status. Ennis is known for his calm attitude under high pressure situations, rarely turning the ball over, and flat-out being a playmaker. Gatorade is known for making the right decisions choosing their New Jersey player of the year, Tyler Ennis now join the likes of Michael Gilchrist (Kentucky) and Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers).
